Description

What would Christmas be without the poinsettia? Since the middle of the last century, this indoor plant with its star-shaped bracts has been an integral part of the Christmas tradition in Europe. As pot plants and cut flowers, poinsettias brighten up rooms and add festive glamour to Christmas trees, presents and tables. As cut flowers, poinsettias add colourful accents to Advent wreaths, bouquets and arrangements and create a festive glow. Here they have been combined with preserved flowers in matching colours, dried banksias and proteas, date branches, pine sprigs and cones to create an artistic arrangement. Tip: Cut poinsettias will stay fresh for up to two weeks in fresh water or wet floral foam if, immediately after cutting, you first dip the stems in hot water (about 60 °C) for a few seconds, then in cold water.
